Chartered in 1890, the Borough is named for an estate which was known as "Sharon" and which at one time comprised almost 75 acres. The estate was owned by Halliday Jackson, a Quaker, whose ancestors emigrated from Ireland in the early 1700's.
Sharon Hill is ideally located to Philadelphia and boasts convenient transportation by bus, trolley, or train. In addition, the Philadelphia International Airport is just minutes away.
